The UK's only police-approved personal safety app with patented AI

Most safety apps depend on the user unlocking their phone, opening an app and pressing a button while being attacked. That's rarely possible. Epowar is built to work even when the user can't.

HOW IT WORKS

From incident to dispatch, in seconds

SMART TRIGGERS

AI attack detection

AI analyses heart rate and motion data from a connected wearable to detect the signature of a physical attack - erratic movement plus a heart-rate spike.

Manual SOS, no unlock needed

The SOS button is available directly from the lock screen and a home-screen widget, without opening the app or unlocking the phone.

EFFECTIVE RESPONSE

Instant alert & dispatch

Alert: Chosen contacts are alerted immediately - Critical Alerts override silent and DND mode.

Dispatch: Epowar is integrating with a UK-wide Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) to triage incidents and dispatch the emergency services.

Evidence, automatically

From the moment of detection or SOS, the app records microphone data and compiles a timestamped Evidence Pack correlating the incident with location and status data - designed in consultation with the Met and NPCC.

A closer look at how Epowar works

AUTOMATIC DETECTION

Attack detection AI

Patented AI models detect a physical attack in under 5 seconds - no action needed from the user.

Epowar's AI continuously analyses sensor data from a user's own wearable (e.g. Apple Watch), detecting the precise signature of a physical attack: erratic movement - distinct from the repetitive pattern of exercise - combined with a spike in heart rate. This means it won't trigger unless a genuine attack pattern is detected.

Attack detection trigger in-app
Motion Heart rate Outcome
Consistent, rhythmic changes in speed & intensity+Heart rate spike=Exercise (high intensity)
Consistent, rhythmic changes in speed & intensity+No significant change in heart rate=Exercise (low intensity)
Erratic, random changes in speed and intensity+No significant change in heart rate=Regular, non-exercise activity, e.g. looking for something in your bag
Erratic, random changes in speed and intensity+Heart rate spike=Physical attack
SOS on lock screen, home screen and watch
MANUAL SOS

Quick-access SOS

The only app with SOS buttons on the lock screen, home screen, and smart watch.

If a wearable isn't available or a user needs to act manually, Epowar's SOS can be triggered directly from four easy-access locations - no need to unlock the phone or open the app first. This is designed for the reality of an attack, where every second and every extra step matters.

EVIDENCE PACK

The Epowar Evidence Pack

As soon as an incident is detected or SOS is pressed, evidence capture begins. All evidence is instantly saved to the cloud, so if the device is lost or destroyed, the evidence is accessible. It is then formatted into a comprehensive 'Evidence Pack' and sent to the user, making reporting easy.

BUILT FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE SURVIVORS

Designed with survivors, not just for them

Every feature has been reviewed against the realities of coercive control and safeguarding practice, built alongside DV specialists and police advisors

No 24/7 location sharing

There is no persistent tracking - by design, Epowar cannot be repurposed as a tool for coercive control.

Full survivor autonomy

Survivors choose exactly who they share a Journey with, and when. Nothing is shared without their say-so.

SOS works anytime

The SOS widget works without needing to be inside an active Journey - protection isn't conditional on planning ahead.

Evidence that stands up

The Evidence Pack is designed to support safeguarding teams and prosecutions from day one.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SURVIVOR CHARITIES

Built hand-in-hand with the organisations that support survivors

We've worked closely with frontline VAWG charities - including rape crisis and domestic abuse services - to make sure Epowar reflects the real needs of survivors.

HOW BULK LICENSING WORKS

Simple to distribute, simple to redeem

1

We provide codes

Epowar issues a batch of unique redemption codes for the number of licences purchased.

2

You distribute them

Officers, DOCOs and safeguarding teams hand codes directly to vulnerable people and DV survivors as part of existing safeguarding conversations - no extra admin or account setup on the force's side.

3

They redeem in the app

The user enters the code in the Epowar app, instantly unlocking Epowar Premium - including the Alarm Receiving Centre integration and discreet features - for 12 months.
